My Five Most Invaluable Items to use in homeschooling: #5 Notebooking Pages

Notebooking Pages… one of the top 5 invaluable things I use in homeschooling!

Free Notebooking Pages Sampler

Notebooking Pages is a treasure absolutely worth having, whether you get the free version or the Lifetime Membership. The free version offers over 600 pages of notebooking pages to download. We started with this before jumping in and purchasing the Lifetime Membership, which was on sale when I got it.

Important note: At the time of publishing this, I got an email saying that as of March 31, 2019 there will no longer be a lifetime membership available, but only monthly or annual subscriptions. So it may be worth your while to get the lifetime membership before then as it is transferrable after that date.

Notebooking. What is it, you might ask? It’s a way of taking the plain blue lines of a composition book and exchanging it for a personalized notebook or folder using pages with empty boxes in which to be creative, borders in shades and pictures, and 2 different layouts of lines for children who are either beginning or accomplished at handwriting. Some of the pages have pictures to color, some have black and white pictures like portraits of individuals.

They cover all the subjects you can think of teaching, and if you find a gap, you can email Debra and she may create something to cover that topic. Some of those already available include:

  • Geography
  • History
  • Math
  • Science
  • People
  • Language arts
  • Biography
  • Character
  • Art
  • Bible
  • Holidays
  • Blank, lined

As part of the social studies courses we have been doing, I have included the requirement for the children to write biographies. After they’ve put down some notes on plain lined paper, I open up my computer for them to choose the pages they would like to use on which to write. Without exception, their biographies have grown in length, and I’m sure that the enjoyment of the pages which they personally choose adds to the desire to keep writing.

Notebooking Pages Free Resources

Yes, this absolutely deserves a spot on My 5 Most Invaluable Items list. One day when I have an abundance of free time, perhaps I will make some worksheets like these myself. Until that time (as a homeschooler that may still take a decade, coinciding with my last child’s graduation from high school), I am very thankful for the work Debra has put in and made available to us, and such a wide variety of them for free! Thanks Debra.
